R.C. Carter Art

Meet the artist

"R. C. Carter Art" studio of Greenbrier, Arkansas would like to introduce you to the artist Ron Carter.

Artist Ron Carter

(Possibly deep in thought about his next painting)? :)

Ron has a natural, God-given gift.  He has been a professional artist for over 35 years and has never had any formal art lessons.  He does not like to say he is "self taught" for 2 reasons. For one thing, he gives God the credit for his natural ability. Also... he admits to being a faithful observer of many other artists... their styles and their careers. (He DOES admit however to attending what he calls "The school of Hard Knocks")!  :-D

Ron has close to 50 of his original paintings in print with many of those being  published by the international art publishing company Bentley Publishing Group (a.k.a. Bentley House), located in Walnut Creek, Ca. We'd like to make note that one print in particular... "One fine morning", (pictured on top of Home page) in the past 10 years, has sold well over 70,000 prints worldwide. His art has shown up around Christmas time (for several years) on decorative popcorn tins in Wal-mart, as decorative prints for a major company known as Home Interiors as well as being made into puzzles and put on T-shirts.

Where some artists stay with one medium and limited subject matter, as you visit each page of this website you will see that Ron gets his "creative kicks" from being versatile... he says that's his way of keeping his work "fresh" not boring and also keeping himself HAPPY as an artist!

He works in various medium and goes from landscapes to still life to seascapes to portraits of any kind with ease. There are literally  hundreds of his original works of art in private collections throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada. Many of the works in those collections include wall murals, realistic faux marble, exotic wood graining etc. Some of the better known companies that Ron has done artwork for are AT&T, Union Carbide, ITT Technical Institutes, Miller Brewing Company, Burger King, Allied Van lines and many others. He's painted murals in the homes of celebrities... his favorite being a huge project (2002), in the game room of NBA star, (the late), Lorenzen Wright, (Memphis Grizzlies from 2001 - 2006). As mentioned, Ron paints portraits of people, cars, trucks, homes, churches and businesses and has done so for many doctors, lawyers and other high profile business professionals.

BUT... while Ron enjoys painting many different subjects and has the ability to paint a portrait of literally any subject imaginable, we here at "R.C. Carter Art" studios thought we'd let you in on a little secret... and that is what Ron enjoys painting the most. Without a doubt... his greatest joy in painting is when he is doing animals... preferably the adorable pets that are so much like family... (including but not limited to) the dogs, cats and horses that bring so much joy to our lives in the way of unconditional love and companionship. (Check out the portraits on the "Portrait samples" page).

Ron has a unique way of being able to do more than just paint a typical, mediocre "pet portrait" of your special (four legged) friend; he has the ability to take it to the "next level" and make it an appreciable work of art that nearly anyone would be proud to have in their home or office.
