A point to ponder:
If BUDGET is a concern... and for some clients it is, we
can still help you come really close to getting what you want in a mural. A client wanted a mural in
their small son's bedroom and they wanted old planes to be the main focus. After agreeing on a size, a BASIC
price could then be established. But even though that price should be considered the low starting point, the mural could have
been done for a little less money by reducing it's size. For the sake of this "point to ponder", let's say that
the basic price was comfortably below the clients budget. A great deal more detail could have been added
on the ground that would have made this an even more interesting project. In this particular case, more detail was out
of the clients budget. BUT we were still able to give them an interesting scene WITHOUT the added expence
of a lot more detail. Point being: If
you're willing to compromise a little on size and detail, many times you can still have a very nice mural and stay within
your budget. RC

4 ft. x 8 ft. oil on masonite panel
Interesting story: This painting started out to be only a portrait of a pretty little
blonde headed granddaughter... possible 16 x 20. Then the idea for the truck (the client's first) became a topic. The
artist was given a very detailed TOY REPLICA of the truck, photos were taken at the correct angle, also a photo of the child
standing in the window of Grandpa's current truck and the whole thing was put together... (artist's choice of background).
Later, 2 dogs were added as an after thought.
Next... take a good look at this "BEFORE" photo. Your looking into a corner area behind
a large jacuzzi tub. The columns are wood.
The columns were painted to match the marble floor in this large master bath. The areas above
the tub were painted to look like marble in-lays. The more ornate insets were painted to match two beautiful vanities.
The whole project took longer but the mural took a little over a week.
Okay, no more suspence. Here's the "AFTER" photo!
The following mural was painted for Rufus and Donna Davis in Germantown, Tn., a suburb of Memphis. Mrs.
Davis is a news anchor at channel 5 news.
